Pranayama is considered the science of proper breathing. Breath, after all, is the primary source of energy and nourishment for the many cells of the human body. People can live free of food for several weeks, and possible days without water. However, they only last a few minutes without oxygen. The typical person actually only uses about 15 percent of their total lung capacity in any given breath.
Pranayama Practice: Deep abdominal breathing
When they learn how to boost this capacity thanks to deep abdominal diaphragmatic breathing, along with particular pranayama practices, they can grow the flow of crucial energy to many organs in their body. That also overcomes significant physical ailments and builds up immunity to disease.
